Ode in the West Wind
Let the wind bring only spring and no more shells above the sky.
Let the seagulls be the only ones to cry.
Don’t let the Earth, the kids, the people shed another tear.
Let the wind sweep away the chants of death and sorrow.
Let the wind be the only sound of silence,
Let it bring spring and hope.
Let us leave this winter far behind.
Let the wind warm our souls.
Let the sun be the only light over the people;
put down the fire burning around them
but ignite the flame of resistance in their hearts.
Let the wind blow away only our tents,
Let it be so strong to carry the people back to their land,
Let it give them strength to chase away the clouds
weighing on them:
The clouds that carry bombs, occupy their home and destroy their trees.
Let the spring chase these clouds away,
Let the wind scatter seeds of hope on their soil,
Let a new life sprout from the roots of those beheaded trees that resisted the winter
Giving life to a land
burned solely by the sun,
In a sky where no cloud is seen
And where the wind blows with power
In the hearts of the
people.
